The advantage of this solution is that it does not add an icon to the system tray and does not consume memory when you use it. Get Plain Text does its job silently and keeps you focused on your work. It does not bother you with windows, prompt dialogs, or any other bells and whistles. Once the job is done, the program closes automatically. Get Plain Text can do only one operation but does it like no other :) Every time you run it, the utility changes the content of the clipboard, removing any text formatting, including fonts, sizes, colors, embedded images but leaves the main thing - plain text. Get Plain Text is a freeware solution to this problem. But if you do not use some clipboard extender like this, then this problem is topical for you. Advanced clipboard managers can remove formatting and paste plain text. In fact, there are lots of programs that do not have this simple but useful feature. Some editors have a special feature, called 'Special paste', which lets you paste clean text without any formatting.
